Monitoring The Building, Inside & Out
Having just wrapped up our SOLO course, I thought that I would discuss one of the most common issues with operating alone on an engagement, which is how seemingly simple tasks become difficult when you’re alone.
Lets take the following challenge, you have one week for an engagement and want to start by performing recon on the target building … what is your plan for monitoring all sides and entrances of said building ?
Will you position yourself in one location, monitoring one entrance for a few hours, than switch up throughout the day? You’ll obviously miss things on any entrance anytime you aren’t there.
We could potentially use static cameras, but these tend to be expensive and out of the budget of some teams, as well as the fact that they may not be legal to plant and use in certain countries or cities, especially when deployed inside a building.
Your target building may have multiple entrances, a loading area, and staff entering on different schedules. Static observation can cover one position well, but it leaves the rest of the site unseen.
So whats your recommendation ?
